Around the apartment

All the frames were purchased $3 or less!!!
Tips: yard sales, goodwill, thift stores OR hobby lobby clearance
Some are just like i bought them for others i used sand paper and spray paint to enhance its beauty

This is like a big sticky note for me cause i will forget! I store mail, bills and ,upcoming events here..
My apartment has hardly any windows which i hate. SO i brought my own. Found this at a little store in the mountains $10

This serves as a head board for my bed. I had the middle frame for years prob from walmart, it was originally black. The two frames on both ends were $1 each at goodwill. They had pictures of carrots and the frame was green. I took the picture out, cleaned the glass, and spray painted all three with blue paint to match the pillows on my bed.

IKEA: one of my new favorite stores.
The frames came in a pack of two for 99 cents and the curtains were on sale for $12!

Finally homemade wall art!
I used a canvas from Michaels on sale for $8 (pack of 2) different types of scrapbook paper, and Mod Podge

do it yourself!

Diamond in the rough

This last year i have had a lot of transitions...
Change of Job
moved from Cullowhee,NC (of six yrs) to South Carolina,
change of pace
change of people
change in my budget

Change in budget makes it hard to decorate my new lil apt i call home. So this blog will be a show and tell of my thrift store/yard sale treasures i bring back to life! I also want to share with you some of my favorite blogs that encourage me to think creative and ways to designing on a budget!

Magnetic Paint- you can find @ Lowes for $15 for a quart

Chalk Board Paint: Lowes $15

AFTER:

The paint was a little pricey but i hardly used any of it, so for me (someone who does tons of projects) i know it will come in handy. The magnetic paint is a primer, apply that first then any paint color over it and magnets will stay. ( it call for 3 thin coats rather than 2 heavy) the chalk board i used two coats.
